Divaboard makes me oddly sad tonight
I come to Divaboard just about every day for a quick glance, usually no more than 3 minutes to see if anyone has posted anything of value. It never
makes me sad or nostalgic for what the board once was.
Tonight I must be in an odd mood because I logged on here and then sat thinking about the last 7 years or so of my life. How much has changed in that
time for me, and for the board, and how I miss some of the people here.
As for me when I joined here I was in my third year of college, still lived at home with my parents, working part time in a grocery store, and dating
a great girl. Now I've graduated (and made little to no use of my degree...but that's another story), I live in a house with that great girl (who I
married), and I work for a company that processes mail for the post office (for anyone who cares I'm a technician who fixes the machines that they
use...it's boring but it pays well).
I'm older, and I'm happy in life, but I'm not where I thought I would be in most ways. I suppose many of us could say that.
As for the board and the people I miss...it's odd to say but there was a time where some of the people on this board (DF and Green Goblin mostly)
were among my closest friends. I have real life friends who I don't feel as close to as I did those guys. But we all grew up and moved on, and
found more real life responsibilities to worry about.
There are other people too of course. Some are still here, or pop in from time to time. PM, Hajj, Puypaya, Cage...of course good ol' Spanky is
still around..sigh.
So tonight Divaboard has made me into a huge pussy, feeling nostalgic for my internet friends and the greatness of Divaboard. And for that I do
apologize guys...I didn't mean to come here and be a huge pussy but...what the fuck...it happens.
God damn I'm a year old that Cactus Jack Foley was 7 years ago when I mocked him for being a pedo for hanging out here. Jesus Christ.

It's perfectly normal to have a moment like you did. We all have moments like that both in our OWN ways and through perhaps different media.
Eventually, everybody sits down and says "where did the last x number of years go?" The internet is a strange thing, it can cause you to get to know
people really well, that you could lose contact with tomorrow. It's almost like having a pen pal(*) back in the day. One day they could fall off the
face of the earth and all you would be able to think is either they died,didn't really like you, or their computer/internet was broken.
*When I was in sixth grade,my teacher set up a pen pal program with a school in New Jersey. The letter I got was filled with stupid yankee bullshit
about how since I'm from Alabama I must fuck my sister and have no teeth.. just the usual idiotic behavior. Then, he made the mistake of telling me
in HIS letter that he collects and sleeps with stuffed animals. Yeah, I ripped him a new ass (which he probably grew up to like) in my response to
him. I think i came up with at least 4 different ways of calling him a pussy.
Getting back on track, I kinda feel bad for missing DB's "Golden age". Everybody keeps talking about how great it was. I guess I was on here for a
little bit of it before it got really neat around here, but it's not the same. I'd like to see it return to that, perhaps with some new regulars.
That's why I try to start conversations and encourage others to do so. I know my methods,in order to achieve this, aren't popular with everybody but
it's my hope that they catch on,in the end. |

Sounds like someone needs to get the sand out of their vagina, lol. Just kidding dude. Definitely know how it is 100%.
The only other person I know that was on the old forum I was constantly on was Fuzzbuzz, and we had a Be the Booker thread, and I had a WWF 1992 fed
that I wrote and he commented on a bunch. That and prediction games were big for me.
Even further back I had a forum that was really big, but so much time has past I forgot the name. It was my first time in the wrestling forums, and
even though I had watched wrestling all my life, I never really got into talking about it online until 4 years ago.
Certainly a nostalgic feeling. Glory days of marks if you will, lol. |

I maybe check the board 2 times a year now. But some people are still around, I got along well with most and miss talking to DF, Puy, Pain, Outsider
and Sam. Guess times just changes |
